Android TV is a TV/software platform, and the exact channel menu depends on the manufacturer’s interface layer. Instead of memorising one brand-specific button sequence, this guide shows how to reach the DVB-S/S2 tuner, scan Türksat 42°E and diagnose the reception chain when tuning fails.

Platform differences

Why there is no single Android TV menu path

The same TV platform can expose Channel, Live TV, Source or Broadcasting menus differently across manufacturers. First confirm that the television has a satellite tuner and that DVB-S/S2 or Satellite is the active source. If an external receiver is connected by HDMI, tuning must be performed on that receiver, not in the TV tuner.

Menu wording changes with firmware. Search for Satellite, Channel Setup, Auto Scan, Manual Scan, TKGS or Network/NIT rather than forcing instructions written for a different manufacturer.

Find satellite setup and confirm Türksat 42°E

A common navigation example is: Settings → Channel/Channels → Channel Setup → Satellite veya Advanced Options. Treat it as orientation rather than a universal path. The key target is the satellite tuner configuration.

The August 2026 migration remains at 42°E, so do not change the satellite to Hotbird or Astra just because channels disappeared. Confirm Türksat 42°E and any TKGS operator option offered by the TV.

Network scan

Use 12380 and 12423 correctly

For a broad channel-list refresh, use 12380 MHz V 27500 FEC 3/4 or 12423 MHz H 30000 FEC 3/4 and enable Network Search/NIT. If the first reference has no quality, test the second.

For only a few missing services, use the current Türksat frequency list to find their transponder and run a focused manual scan.

Signal

Move from software to RF diagnosis when quality is absent

No quality on both references means repeated channel scans are unlikely to help. Check universal-LNB 9750/10600 and 22 kHz Auto where applicable, DiSEqC, LNB power, coax and communal distribution.

DiSEqC is installation-specific. Compare with a known-working outlet in the same building. If only H or only V services are missing, investigate polarization switching and the multiswitch path.

TKGS

What if TKGS is not visible on Android TV?

TKGS support depends on the TV manufacturer, tuner software and model, not just the operating system. Absence of TKGS does not mean the TV is defective.

Use standard DVB-S/S2 network scanning when TKGS is unavailable. If TKGS exists but does not update, verify satellite reception and the operating mode before considering any model-specific reset procedure.

Eliminate five common tuning mistakes

Wrong broadcast type (DVB-T/C), wrong satellite, disabled Network Search, wrong DiSEqC and scanning with zero quality are common causes. Check these before randomising dozens of settings.

After tuning, test channels from multiple transponders. One working service does not prove that all bands and polarizations are healthy.
