Sharp TV Türksat Channel Setup: Restore Missing Channels After 16 August 2026

Türksat moved a portion of TV and radio services from Türksat 3A during the night of 15–16 August 2026 to newer satellites at the same 42° East orbital position. Because the orbital slot is unchanged, a normal household installation does not need the dish pointed to a different satellite. If the problem started only in the channel list, update and tuning are the first things to investigate.

A TKGS-compatible receiver can obtain channel-list changes from the satellite broadcast. When TKGS is unavailable or does not complete the update, use a DVB-S/S2 network scan. 12380 V 27500 is an important reference, but it is not the only diagnostic point: 12423 H 30000 is the second reference highlighted for the transition.

Common path: Settings → Channel / Channels & Inputs → Channel Setup → Satellite. Exact labels differ by firmware and model year. Look for Satellite, DVB-S/S2, TKGS, Auto Tuning, Manual Tuning or Network Search. Do not choose DVB-T/T2 terrestrial or DVB-C cable tuning when you are trying to receive Türksat satellite channels.

Sharp-specific note: menu placement and supported functions can vary. Use the model number on the rear label to match the official manual when an option in this guide is not visible. The goal is to reach the satellite tuner settings, not to force an unrelated menu sequence.

Enable Network Search/NIT when the goal is to refresh the broader channel list. If you are adding one known transponder only, a manual scan with network search disabled can be more controlled. Enter frequency, polarization and symbol rate in their separate fields; V means vertical and H means horizontal.

If the first reference has no quality, test the second before repeatedly scanning the same dead transponder. No quality on both references points upstream: satellite selection, DiSEqC port, LNB configuration, coax/F connectors, multiswitch or the communal distribution system.

Signal level is not the same as usable signal quality. A tuner can show level from connected coax or even a different satellite while quality remains zero. The relevant Türksat transponder must lock and produce quality before a scan can reliably find services.

For a conventional universal Ku-band LNB, 9750 MHz low oscillator, 10600 MHz high oscillator and 22 kHz Auto are common settings. MDU, Unicable/SCR and specialised communal systems may use different parameters. In those cases, copy settings from a known-working outlet in the same building or ask the system installer.

TKGS is not simply an Internet app; update data is delivered with the satellite service. A compatible TV still needs adequate satellite reception. Leave the set on the Live TV source, check the TKGS operating mode and restart the TV if an expected update has not been applied.

Channel editing can require a flexible, personal or disabled TKGS mode depending on the Sharp model. Do not copy mode names from another brand. Use only the options actually offered by your television and its official model documentation.

If a scan returns zero channels, compare quality on both reference transponders. If only horizontal or only vertical services are missing, investigate LNB 13/18 V polarization switching, connectors and the multiswitch. If only a few services are missing, check their current transponder values in Türksat’s official frequency list and run a focused manual scan.

Treat factory reset as a last resort. It can remove Wi‑Fi, picture, apps and personal channel settings. Use it only when the manufacturer’s model-specific TKGS or installation procedure explicitly requires it and lower-impact recovery steps have failed.
